The ?old Church? at Serenity Shores has been lovingly preserved as a family home for nearly 100 years. It was an abandoned Methodist country church, purchased in the early 1910s by Albion Hobson, a Chicago businessman, and transformed into a summer cottage. In 1995, the current owner added to the original structure to create a year round home with 4 bedrooms, 4 baths and modern conveniences. The kitchen combines marble countertops and period cupboards with contemporary appliances. The great room (original church sanctuary) is furnished in antiques, with the original rococo chandeliers, and ten- foot high doors. The house is surrounded by decks and a screened porch that create an outdoor living area. Step back in time, and enjoy the warmth and serenity of yesteryear.
